Founded in Paris in 2012, Maisonnée creates decorative objects for the home.
Our lovable creations are made exclusively in France, because we are keen to support local industry, respect our heritage and keep a close eye on production, but above all because this proximity makes it possible to establish a productive relationship between designer and manufacturer and bring beautiful objects to life.
Craftsmanship takes pride of place in our production process: it leaves its mark on every one of our objects. This focus on the human aspect is behind our choice of name, Maisonnée, which refers not to the house itself (maison in French) but rather all those who make it a home and live in harmony there.
Maisonnée produces a family of long-lasting objects and our collections are growing in number like an accumulation of strata, building our history. Our objects are a balm for ourselves, an expression of joy and happiness, a strand of the cultural fabric that binds us together, tools for enhancing the pleasure of living together.
Audrey BELIN | Designer & Fondateur
Objects help to build our sense of identity, either individually or as a group; our sense of what make us a person, a family, a being, a household. They are a source of stories, links and stances. An object must not only strive to be beautiful; if it is to share our lives, it must also be useful and we must feel some sense of attachment to it.
Audrey Belin cares about this idea of memories and projection, and knows how to enhance our daily lives with a playful, candid and pseudo-childlike atmosphere that is always charming and poetic. Inspired by objects themselves or how they work, she brings to them a sprinkle of magic and illusion, creating the interaction that is so dear to her. Her nods and references are there to encourage a spontaneous smile, an uncomplicated interaction with the object, and a rediscovery of it and its purpose.
Her credo is to bring grace to the inanimate objects that occupy our homes, so that they become worthy of attention, are appreciated and serve us for a long time
With Maisonée, she is gradually building a collection where each object could be the chapter of a book. Objects like notes, which adapt perfectly in a refinement of materials and colours.
A desire for objects that last and that we want to show off, share, give and pass on to future generations. Lovable objects, conversation starters, generators of emotions and memories.
